2011年に解散したR.E.M.が、10月19日にコレクション・アルバム『R.E.M. at BBC』のリリースを決定、ティーザー映像と収録曲「Losing My Religion」の音源を公開した。

本作は、8CD+1DVDのスーパー・デラックス・エディション・ボックス・セット、2CD、2LP、デジタル・フォーマットという4つのフォーマットにて発売される。BBCから選抜された稀少レコーディングや未発売ライヴとスタジオ・レコーディングなどが収録されるとのこと。
　
また、ボックス･セットのほかに2CD、2LPで『The Best of R.E.M. at the BBC』もリリースされるほか、完全ボックス・セットの8枚CDはデジタル配信とストリーミング配信も決定している。今後、毎週リリース日に向けて新しいトラックが公開されるので続報を待とう。
　
なお本日9月7日より、iTunesにてボックス・セットおよび『The Best of～』の予約がスタート。いち早く1991年のBBC 1"Into The Night"セッションで録音された「Losing My Religion」を手に入れることができるので、気になる方は要チェック。
